Jonathan Dayton

Jon was born in January of 2003 in the Logan Utah Regional Hospital to Rachel and Brandon Dayton. He grew up in Providence, Utah as the first of 5 children. His siblings are Sam(22), SofieAnn(19), Will(12), and Ellie(10).

As a child, Jon played soccer and was very involved in Boy Scouts. He earned his Eagle Scout at 14 years old and was able to attend the Boy Scout National Jamboree in 2017, where he also toured national and church history sites. He played viola for 7 years, through all of middle school and high school. In high school, he played ultimate frisbee, sang in the choir his senior year, and attended the after-school “IT STEM” program with the local technical college. He graduated from Ridgeline High School in 2021. 

The following year he continued his studies with Bridgerland Technical College, completing his 900 hour Certificate as well as completing his CompTIA Networking+ Certification. At the same time he attended Utah State University, seeking to apply his technical credits to a degree. In the spring of 2022, he graduated from both colleges, getting an Associates of General Technology from USU. He participated in the Logan Institute’s “Institute Choir” every semester even after graduation. 

After a few years of working and singing in the Institute Choir, he decided to continue his education, moving to Brigham Young University Idaho in the fall of 2024. He made the decision, got accepted, registered for classes, and bought housing with only two weeks before the first day of class. He took three semesters of English Major classes and Creative Writing Minor classes (his favorite classes being Grammar, Editing, and Creative Writing) before switching to the Manufacturing Engineering Technology Major (MET). He is still pursuing a Creative Writing Minor. During his time there, he has enjoyed singing in acapella choirs, participating in writing groups, and dipping his toes into DnD.

Carrie “Brooke” Wagstaff

Brooke is the youngest of 3, the daughter of Bryan and Sarah Wagstaff, growing up in Taylorsville Utah and Austin Texas. Brooke’s siblings are Kat and Emily.

Brooke plays violin, is an artist in pencils and photography, in addition to spending time swimming and dancing as a child. In Round Rock High School she was a yearbook photographer and a student mentor in the PALS Program. She graduated in 2023.

Brooke is pursuing a bachelors degree in Civil Engineering at Brigham Young University Idaho, and has already completed summer internships at Capital Engineering, Texas Area Telecom, and is currently working at Forsgren Associates as a drafter.
